Hotel Orquidea - Funchal (Madeira)

The hotel offers a lovely atmosphere with well-maintained facilities.

We were deeply disappointed with the very thin walls in our Twin Room, we could hear everything from the neighboring rooms. The breakfast service was quite frustrating, as items were not replenished in a timely manner, leaving us with limited options. Lastly, the parking situation was a nightmare. The hotel had no designated parking, and we struggled to find a spot.

A great selection of food at the breakfast, I loved toast, breads, cereal, fresh fruit and eggs.

Staff at breakfast is not very friendly.

Our stay in the Twin Room was good. The rooftop views enhanced our evenings after a day of exploring. The breakfast hours provided ample time to fuel up before adventures, though early check-in could improve convenience for travelers. A satisfying experience for our family!

everything was nice, excellent location right by funchal was under thick smoke-mainly from the fire burning on the hills, and many restaurants, really nice experience. all the services were good, the room was great-sized with great views over the funchal hills, "classic " windows, the terrace. this hotel met needs well in every way, couldn't recommend more.

Forst night I got the room with unchanged sheets,full of somebody's hair,and generally speaking sheet weren't changed regulary.Also my impression is that thay use sparingly on hygiene articles such as soaps,shampoos and shower gel.The thing that irritated me most were impatient maids who were calling(and succeeded wake me up every time) and even knocking on my door despite "don't disturb"-sign trying to get their job done!

The breakfast was decent, too.

Orquidea is a reasonably priced hotel, ideally placed for walking around the old town Funchal with museums and galleries, Also docks and marina. Easy walk to the cable car and bus station for garden or mountain visits. Friendly helpful staff. Huge buffet breakfasts. Super rooftop terrace for viewing/ sunbathing.

Hotel up a hill.could be difficult for people with mobility problems.

This hotel is a great choice for familes, we stayed for 4 nights and realy enjoyed the fine rooftop view. The food was tasty and brekfast had a lot of options to choose from. The wifi was super fast, every floor had its own connection which was fab. The room with a balcony was worth the extra €10, it.

One let down was that the rooftop bar looked like it hadn't been used in a while, disappointing. Parking was a bit tricky since there was no on-site parking.
